Dolly Lewis


Dolly Lewis is an American/British actress, jazz singer, and audiobook narrator, best known for portraying Tess Avery in the CTV and the CW crime drama series Sight Unseen.

Personal life

Lewis was born to a Czech mother and a British father, late Gavin Lewis, a retired associate professor of history at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at CUNY. Her paternal grandmother was a concert pianist Michal Augusta Hambourg, and her paternal great-grandfather was a Russian British concert pianist Mark Hambourg.
Lewis is fluent in Italian, and fairly proficient in French, Russian, and Slovak as well.
Lewis has severe night blindness, and her retinas are detaching. She said that the producers of Sight Unseen had been aware of this, and "I think they were looking to specifically cast somebody that has real life experience with" vision issues.

Career

Lewis studied Art History at Rutgers University in New Jersey before training as an actor at the Esper Studio, and since leaving has appeared in many projects as a voice over artist alongside her acting career. She has worked for a diverse pool of clients and brands, such as CBS, United Nations, Fortune, Forevermark, Nature Valley, UNESCO. Lewis has experience as a voiceover artist, recording for several audiobooks and podcasts. Some of her work includes I Think You're Projecting, City of Girls, and House of Mirth.
