The Last Pad

The Last Pad is a 1970 American play by William Inge which played Off Broadway. It was his last produced play in his lifetime.
It was known as Don't Go Gentle.
Inge's biographer wrote the play "seems to be proof that during his last years, Inge no longer knew what good drama was. Or perhaps he knew but had long abandoned what he knew was good for what he hoped would be popular. It isn’t that The Last Pad has no poignance; rather, it just doesn’t ring true."
